If a person loses the NOL Card, they can replace it by applying online on RTA website. The procedure to apply for lost NOL card differ from person to person depending upon their residential status, age and social status in the UAE. What is a NOL Card?
NOL Card is a prepaid electronic payment card issued by Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to pay various transport charges in Dubai. RTA operates Road, Rail, Tram and Water transport services in Dubai and with NOL Card, one can pay transport charges with a single tap of the card. The card works on RFID system and gadgets provided in each transport system will enable the passenger to make a contact less payment on all these facilities. Other than transport services, one can pay Parking Fees at all over Dubai Car Parking slots. Also, there are thousands of business outlets where we can use it for payment purpose. Etihad museum also accepts payment through NOL card.
How to apply for replacing a lost NOL card?
- For an adult resident of UAE, it requires only front and back side copy of their valid Emirates ID. Next is a white back ground Passport Size photograph.
- If an adult is under ‘People of Determination’ category, other than documents mentioned in serial number 1, copy of Sanad Card or document issued by competent authorities of UAE stating that the person comes under ‘People of Determination’
- If the adult is on visit and under ‘People of Determination’ category, everything is same as mentioned in Serial Number 2. But, instead of Sanad Card Copy, a copy of document from competent authorities of their country is to attach.
Language for applying Lost or New NOL Card
The application to replace a lost NOL card or a new one, it must be in Arabic or English only. Any other application or part of it, should translate into Arabic or English and legalized before submitting it online.
How to Apply for NOL Card for Children and Senior Citizens?
Students and Senior citizens can also apply online through RTA website for a new NOL Card or replacing a lost one. The procedure and documents required are as follows:
- A student in the age bracket of 5 and 23 can apply for NOL card with front and back side copy of valid Emirates ID. Then a white back ground passport size photograph and copy of an official document proving he or she studying in a recognized school or educational institution.
- For senior citizens, it requires only a white back ground photograph and front and back side copy of a valid Emirates ID
What is the cost of replacing a NOL Card?
AED 70 is the charge of issuing a new NOL Card by RTA. In case of replacing a lost card and any balance amount was there in the previous lost card, the same will be transferred to the new card after verification.
Cost of replacing NOL Card of People of Determination
The replacement of NOL Card or Issuance of NOL card to a person under ‘People of Determination’ category is free.
How to check NOL Card Expiry date?
To check expiry date of NOL card, one can use the Parking machines installed all over Dubai car parking slots. If the metro or Tram station is nearby, you can check the balance there also. Check balance and expiry date of the Card by inserting or tapping the card at the ticketing machine at station.
What is the time required to replace or issue a NOL card?
After furnishing all the valid documents to issue the card, RTA takes only 10 minutes to process the card. All the balance was there in the lost card also will be there in the new card.
