Adnoc Fuel Chip and Enoc Fuel Chip are the main fuel payment systems in the UAE

Payments through Cash (Currency Notes, Coins, Foreign Currency etc.), Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and now NFC (Contactless) payments through apps installed in mobile phones and gadgets are common these days. This requires a two-level data entry when we need to refuel our vehicle. One is paying the amount to the cashier Or Delivery Person, Secondly, they need to enter the amount of fuel recharge to the Vending Machine or Fuel Dispenser.

With the coming of Fuel Chip – a small device fitted inside the fuel lid or the cavity under the fuel lid of a vehicle makes the life even easier. The chip is having a number and the device is capable to communicate with the fuel nozzle equipped with the chip reader. The number in the chip is the controlling number of a fuel refilling account. One can refill amount to the number / chip by online facilities or at Fuel Stations itself. Once recharged, it is just a tap and fueling process until the amount is over. We can avoid tendering the required amount to the cashier and again entering the same to the vending machine then refueling.

Once the nozzle is put in the fuel tank mouth, the nozzle reads the balance in that refueling account and fills fuel until the tank is full or the amount is over.

One account can have many chips – that is multiple vehicles under one name.
