New Plastic 5 Dirham Note In UAE
The Central Bank of UAE had released New AED 5 Currency note made in Polymer. The note is having latest international standards and technologies. CBUAE is using enhanced technical specifications and high – quality security features to combat counterfeiting of the national currency. The note is also having symbols in Braille to help blind and visually impaired users to identify the banknotes.
The distinctive features of this banknote includes a transparent window featuring a portrait of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the logo of the UAE nation brand with fluorescent drawings and inscriptions created using advanced intaglio printing techniques.
The new note is having similar colour patters of the existing currency denominations. The new 5 Dirham note bears the image of the “Ajman Fort”. Also it has image of Dhayah Fort in Ras Al Khaimah .
The 5 dirham banknotes will enter circulation on 26th April 2022. The new note is not replacing the old one. Moreover both new and old currencies will be in circulation as per CB.
