RTA Parking Free | RTA Parking Timing 2022
Roads and Transport Authority – RTA Parking is Free on Fridays and Government Holidays. But it is not applicable on certain parking slots and buildings. Parking at places like Dubai Fish Market and Multi-storey parking slots are not free on holidays. Normal parking charges and penalties apply on these areas during holidays as well. These are 24×7 paid parking zones.
RTA parking timing in 2022 did not change according to the week-end holiday change. As per the notification, the Friday free parking remains same. Even though Saturday and Sunday are holidays for Government departments and most of the companies and offices, parking is not free these days.
Parking timing on usual days are from 8’O Clock in the morning until 10’ O Clock at night. Free parking timings are 10:00 pm to 8:00 am on next working day. If there are multiple holidays together or longer weekends, the parking timing resumes on first working day after the series of holidays.
Parking of own vehicle is free at Metro stations where multi-level parking facilities are there. The largest such parking facilities are available at Rashidiya station at Red Line metro and Al Ghusais station at Green Line metro. These are free only when the driver uses metro services to travel to another station and comes back to same station using the same NOL card used to access the parking slot.
RTA Free Parking Spaces
Metro stations like Rashidiya, Al Ghusais, Global Village, Expo 2020 Location and Underground Parking area of Dubai Fish Market (Waterfront Market). These areas are totally free when the slots are open to public.
During usual days, free parking is only from 10.00 pm to 8:00 am on next working days. Some parking areas become free parking areas after 6:00 pm. Places where parking board has ‘Code F’ will have free parking after 18:00 Hours (6pm). There are also parking areas that become free only after 11:00 pm – these areas are Coded with letter ‘E’.
RTA Ramadan Parking Timing
Unlike usual days, the month of Ramadan will have different parking timing. During iftar timing, parking is free at all spaces except ‘Code-E’ areas. The free timing is 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
During Ramadan, the paid parking timing is split into two. First slot is morning 8:00 am to Evening 6:00 pm. After iftar, the parking fee starts again at 8:00 pm and ends at 12:00 midnight. There is no extra time that is charged during Ramadan, but 2 hours free time is split from single stretch.
Fine for Parking extra Parking Time
AED 100 is fined for parking excessively than the timing in the paring ticket.
Fine for Non-payment of parking fee at a paid parking slot is AED 150/-.
