There is a possibility of dynamic toll fee collection system is also there. Other than this toll gate, there will be another one coming up in Safa South. The Safa South Toll Gate Fee is also AED 4.00 per trip at beginning.

The location of Business Bay Toll Gate will be at the crossing itself. The bridge that is connecting Deira and Bur Dubai parts of Dubai over the creek is the place of new Salik gate.

The location of Al Safa Toll Gate is on Umm Al Seef street connecting to Sheikh Zayed Road. The exact location is in between Al Meydan and Umm Al Seef Street.
When Will Business Bay and Safa South Toll Gates start operation

What is the objective of new salik gates?
As per the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Dubai, the objective of new toll gates is to optimise traffic flow and reduce congestion on main roads within Dubai. The new locations have extensive traffic movement and the new toll system will regulate it.
Their main objective is to control traffic movements and reduce jams by diverting some traffic to alternative routes with greater capacity. This will make a smoother and more efficient transportation facility for all vehicles in Dubai.
Total How Many Salik Gates are in Dubai?
There are seven Salik Gates in Dubai Roads now. The total number will be nine after the New Salik Gates installations in Business Bay Crossing and Al Safa South. The former seven Salik gates are in Al Barsha, Al Garhoud Bridge, Al Maktoum Bridge, Al Mamzar South, Al Mamzar North, Al Safa, Airport Tunnel, Jebel Ali. The Al Mamzar south and North gates will charge only AED 4.00 if a motorist passes through both gates in one hour’s time at a single direction. Effectively, it is one Salik Gate for most of the motorists.
How the Salik Gates Functions?
The functioning of Salik Gates is through RFID system. When a vehicle passes through a Salik toll gate, the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology finds the vehicle and it will scan the Salik tag placed on the vehicle. Each time of passing thru the gate, AED 4.00 will be deducted from the vehicle’s prepaid Salik account linked to the tag. Even if the vehicle is travelling on highway speed, the system will detect the tag and will communicate without error.
Will Safa North and Safa South Toll Gates Charge separately?
The Safa north and south gates will connect together to avoid double charge. There will be only AED 4.00 per trip together. But the condition is: The motorist must pass through both gates within one hour without exiting the high way in one direction. There is a similar system at Mamzar Toll Gates also. They will charge AED 4.00 together if crossing the gates is within one hour.
How to avoid Al Safa Toll Gate?
There are four other roads a motorist can opt to avoid Al Safa Toll Gate. They are – Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Dubai – Al Ain Road, Ras Al Khor Road and Al Manama Road.

Like Al Safa Toll Gate, people who want to skip Business Bay Toll bridge can opt either Infinity Bridge OR Al Shindaga Tunnel to cross the creek.

The Dynamic Toll Charge is a system that collects fees from a motorist according to a specific condition. The condition can be anything like: Fast Lanes of a highway charging more money than other lanes. Or it can fix a time slot.
